The Salvation Army Moore Street has been serving the North Portland community and surrounding neighborhoods since 1924. 

Effective on November 1, 2019, The Salvation Army Moore Street Corps & Community will discontinue community center services. The Salvation Army Moore Street basketball court, soccer field, classroom and meeting room space will continue to be available to the community to rent. The decision to discontinue our community center services was based on fiscal responsibility. The purpose of our community center is to provide funding for our Salvation Army services in North Portland. If a community center is not profitable, it doesn't provide the money needed for services in the community. When a community center loses money, it takes funding away from our services.

The Salvation Army Moore Street will continue serving those in need in North Portland. 

Services available at The Salvation Army Moore Street include shopping style food pantry and referrals to other community partners. Beginning November 1, the food pantry will operate with new hours, and will be open 11 AM - 3 PM on Wednesdays and Fridays. By offering access to free, fresh produce and canned goods, we provide valuable meal supplementation while helping those in need to maintain their independence and dignity. Last year, 14,348 people received assistance from The Salvation Army in North Portland. 

Community members seeking assistance in North Portland can receive help at The Salvation Army Moore Street located at 5325 N. Williams Ave., Portland, OR 97217. 

Registration for Christmas Assistance will begin on November 1, 2019. To register for Christmas Assistance please schedule an appointment at salar.my/pdxchristmas.
